The Modern Baby Pop-In Nappy is unique in its design- it is a birth-to-potty hybrid cross between an All-in-One and a two-part system. It is comprised of a bamboo liner which poppers inside the waterproof shell, and also comes complete with a detachable extra bamboo liner and a wrap around night-time booster.
It seems to sound both simple, yet complicated at the same time! I was fortunate enough to be given a first-hand demonstration of how the nappy fits together, however I do know of some poor souls who are left completely dumb-founded as to what they are supposed to do with all of the ‘bits’! Once you start using it though, it is really simple, and the nappy can be put on and off in one piece.
What immediately struck me about the Pop-In is the lovely exterior, it is soft, unassuming and far more appealing than a standard PUL wrap. It is lined with a PUL laminate which provides the waterproofing, but you wouldn’t know it from the outside, it really is pleasant looking.
Sadly though, with washing this lovely softness does tend to pill a little, which is a bit of a shame, but not disastrous!
As mentioned, the Pop-In comes complete with a detachable night-time booster- this wraps and snaps around the liner inside. Made from Bamboo this is very absorbent, and can be trusted for night time use. However, the bulkiness of the nappy with all the components inside can be off-putting and It did strike me that my daughter can not be comfortable with all of that wad between her legs! (Not that she seemed bothered by it however!)
Another issue I did seem to have with the Pop-In is that although it is designed as a Birth-to-Potty nappy, when our daughter was 15 months, the aplix tabs are already stretched to their maximum- and all of the size settings are exhausted. It worried me that she would not fit into this nappy for much longer, however it has indeed lasted her to potty training.
The Pop-In is available in a range of 5 lovely uni-sex colours, and also in a range of very practical kits, including the Multi-Pack available for just £127.50
Available to purchase from Fill Your Pants
* Now also available in a quicker drying Dream-Dri version!

We’ve used the pop in on our baby for the last 6 months and she’s a chubby 21 month old now. The nappy has been on the largest setting since we started to use them but it still fits her well. In fact it fits better than other nappies we’ve used, we’ve never had any leaks and although the nightime booster is big it’s the only nappy that hasn’t let us down at night. Using the nappy in the day it’s the slimest one we’ve found at fits under all her clothes and there’s no wicking.
I do agree that the outer wrap can pile after a few washes but it doesn’t seem to affect the performance so is just cosmetic I suppose.
After using loads of different nappies this has been our favourite, they’re always the first ones out of the drawer when they’ve been washed!
The sizing shouldn’t be too much of a problem. i used real nappies with my first and found that it almost didn’t fit at 10 months. but sure enough they fit until she was 2 years old. i have been assured that most children reach a peak in size about the waist and thighs at about this age but as they get more active all their growing goes into height.
Hi Annie,
Well our daughter is now 21 months, and we can still fit her in the Pop-In, but the tab fastenings are so far on the edge of the nappy that they sometimes rub on her skin. And she is still only a very petite little thing!
Im sure there is still some wear in it yet, will keep posting updates!
i’ve just started using the pop ins at night n love it already.
do you have to wash the outer wrap every yime you chang the nappy or is it like a regular wrap where you can reuse it??
if you have to wash them each time will the nappy last for more than one child??
I have been using the POP in nappy for a couple of weeks now (dream dri) and love it, last night we went through the whole night with no leaks- and i didnt even use the bamboo night booster! fits well arond my little boy who’s 14lbs and contains everything you would expect from a breastfed baby (if you know what i mean) Bought some bamboo to try so pre washing them at the minute!
I am big fan of Pop-ins. We have 20 of the ‘original’ type. We tried Motherease ones at first but didnt get on with them as they leaked and the poppers on the nappies didnt have enough adjustment for out daughter who was 5 weeks at the time.
We started using Pop-ins when she was 3 months old (now 8 months) We have 20 which means we wash every other day and have the assorted colours which I really like. I am breast feeding my baby and the liquid poos at the beginning stayed in better than a conventional disposable, particularly when they poo lying on their side feeding!
The inners and outers wash really well and we dry the inners on our radiators. In the summer they dried well on the line and sunlight really does help remove the stains. I was worried about the drying as we have no tumble drer but it’s fine and by washing every other day it all has time to dry.
I agree the outer nappy is ‘pilling’ a tiny bit, but not a big concern. You have to remember to pull the velcro tabs onto the special ‘wash’ tab so it doesn’t stick to itself in the w. machine and pull the fabric. They dry so quickly on our airer too and are virtually dry when they come out of teh machine. You mustnt put them on the radiator or tumble drier as apparently this wrecks the waterproof nature of them.
In response to another quetion, yes you wash the outer each time as the inners popper into them and it becomes in effect a ‘whole’ nappy rather then 2 distinct layers (as with a inner nappy and outerplastic pants type thing).
The velcro on the outer wrap adjusts easily but was wonderign how it would work when she was bigger/wider.
We’ve had hardly any leaks in 5 months and now on the 3rd setting as she’s 17 Ibs. I like teh fact we dont have to buy more sizes, a much better investment.
The night time booster were a conundrum to begin with as there were no instructions (nor any on Close website) and there seems to be a spare popper? They are very bulky as someone else said, but she doesnt seem to be bothered either and last night she went 12 hours and no leaks atall. The bamboo is incredibly absorbent, I am quite impressed. Oh yes you definitely have to prewash bamboo inners before using or the absorbency won’t be so good.
One thing I would say is you can feel the poppers on teh back of the nappy outer through the fabric. I dont think the baby can, but it is strange. Our baby is definitely happy in them.
Sorry for long post!
