Nappy Reviews: Tots Bots Flexi-Tots
Thursday, September 18th, 2008Admittedly we were dubious about the new Tots Bots Flexi-Tot from the photo alone- it really does not do it justice! It looks almost plasticy, but seeing and touching it in person is a whole different ball game! This is one of the most gorgeously, luxuriously soft nappies we have come across- I couldn’t wait to get home and get it on my daughter!

The new Tots Bots Flexi-Tot is a shaped nappy with Aplix fastening designed to provide maximum absorbency whilst remaining slim fitting. It provides the absorbent part of a 2-part nappy system and requires a waterproof cover. Whilst most covers will fit over the Flexi-Tot, some will fit better than others-it is quite high in the rise, so recommended wraps would be the Tots Wraps or the Bummis Wraps.
The Flexi-Tot combines ActivFlex technology with super soft bamboo velour layers, which ensures a slim fit, while providing excellent absorbency. The polyester outer shell, although it is not strictly waterproof, does stay dry to the touch, which honestly makes changing time more pleasant as you are not feeling a soggy nappy!
Admittedly we were dubious about the Flexi-Tot from the photo alone- it really does not do it justice! It looks almost plasticy, but seeing and touching it in person is a whole different ball game! This is one of the most gorgeously, luxuriously soft nappies we have come across- I couldn’t wait to get home and get it on my daughter!
An Aplix fastened waist band provides ease of use, and the band is lovely and flexible for maximum comfort. There is gentle elastication around the legs for maximum containment, and overall the fit of the Flexi-Tot is really nice.
The Bamboo velour lining is twice as absorbent as cotton, whilst maintaining a slim fit, and each nappy comes with an additional snap-in booster pad if extra absorbency is required.
It is marketed as super fast drying- however, although it does indeed dry quicker than a Bamboozle, it still does’nt compare to a stuffable. So if you don’t have a tumble drier, these nappies probably aren’t for you! The Flexi-Tot washes really well, and stays flexible and soft even in hard water- it also has cross over tabs to protect your laundry.
This hybrid nappy combines man-made and natural fibres in all of the right places to provide a fully optimised slim, absorbent and super soft shaped nappy. A Big Thumbs Up from us!

I love the Flexi-tots too, they are so soft they are great! Although my OH still forgets that they need a cover because the outer layer of them seems like it would be completely waterproof!
The flexitots are all we use and we love them. My friend has the bambino mios and mine are so much better than hers! We use the tots bots cover with them and they work great. I will be buying the next size up when i need them and will be reusing them all for baby number 2.
I love these nappies, top layer is starting to wear a bit thin after 6 months, but still really absorbant. and does take a day to dry as i dont have a tumble drier, but still recomended
I was very impressed with flexitots but since my daughter has started to move around more, she is getting sores where the poppers are that fix the booster in place (sores whether booster is fastened in or not). Has anyone else found this?
