BumGenius All in One Nappy Review
Thursday, December 11th, 2008Well, as the bumGenius All in One just recieved the Mother & Baby Gold Award for Best Reusable Nappy we thought we had better review it for ourselves! And boy am I glad we did! This is a truly fab little nappy, lovely and trim fitting, functional, attractive, comfortable (as far as we can tell without actually wearing it ourselves!) and so easy to use I think even our pet chickens could figure it out!

The bumGenius All in One is a sized nappy designed with optimum ease of use in mind. If your child will be attending a nursery or childminder these are the nappies you will want to send with them! As the name suggests, they are a one-piece nappy system with all the components needed as a single unit.
The inner core is made from quick drying microfibre and is designed to hold apporximately 12 ounces of fluid. What makes the new 2.0 design really special though is that it also features a back pocket, as with a stuffable nappy, that allows you to add extra absorbency in the form of inserts if required. This would be a good option in the instance of a long car journey, or possibly for night time use, however the bumGenius All in One just as is is suprisingly thirsty!
All in Ones are rather renowned for lacking absorbency and taking an age to dry, but the bumGenius pleasantly surprised us. Being that the core is microfibre, its drying time is pretty good for an AIO, and I think the back opening pocket also allows for more airflow which aids this. Given, the drying time is longer than the bumGenius one-size pocket nappies, but for many the trade off is worth it because there is no stuffing of inserts involved.
They wash well, the inner fleece layer is luxuriously soft and stays dry to the touch, and the elastic around the legs contains messes well.
These are the perfect nappy for out and about use, they can just be shoved in the nappy bag ready to rock ‘n’ roll without worrying about covers or inserts. They also make for a great advert to non-cloth using mamas as the appeal of them is massive and they compare so closely to a disposable. Cloth nappying seriously doesnt get any easier than this! Highly recommended

This nappy was our first experience of Bumgenius, and we had no idea about them prior to being given this as a hand me down after my daughter had an allergic reaction to a leading disposable brand. This is the easiest, simplist nappy in the world to use. It looks just as simple as a disposable and has coped with everything a newborn baby could throw at it. I liked them so much that we went on to buy some more. This nappy should be on every new mums wish list!
