How to line????

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

A further question raised it’s head once I started to use real nappies…..  How do I actually line my nappies????

This is one you really have to decide for yourself, in particular just how dirty do you want to get your hands!

I am not adverse to getting my hands dirty so to speak, however there is dirty and there is really dirty, especially when you have a baby who poos on average six times a day, very loosely four out of those six times!

I have tried fleece liners, which I love (particularly the shaped liners) as they keep my daughters bottom dry and are so soft, however the messy poos can be very difficult to sluice in the loo sometimes needing up to three flushes.  The paper, flushable liners, came into their own at this point, reducing the real mess.

My solution?  I now use both fleece and paper liners for the most part in every nappy; the fleece helps keep her bottom dry, and the paper takes the mess with it. Works for me!
