Have to admit this is kind of cool…

Six years ago Chris Ebejer designed a way to help parents become aware if their baby overheats- the BabyGlow is a cotton sleep suit with heat sensitive molecules embedded in the ink pigments. When a babies temperature rises above 37°c, the colour of the sleepsuit changes from pink/blue to white- thus alerting parents a potential health issue with the child. Read more…

Overheating can causes a baby’s brain to shut down and is also indicative of illnesses such as meningitis.article-0-056005da000005dc-287_468x384

“The suit makes heat visible. It communicates where a baby can’t.  has taken over my life but I’m very passionate about it. I believe that this is a product that will save lives.”

Of course one would assume that for this sleep suit to serve its visual purpose, the child would need to be sleeping in close proximity to its parents and not alone in a seperate room, or indeed being left to ‘cry it out’.

I actually like this idea, and am certainly curious to see it in the UK market this October.
