The drying challenge….
Wednesday, June 24th, 2009This weather is awful, particularly if you are adverse to a tumble dryer like myself….. Intermittent rain, house comfortably warm, so no heating needed - difficult to get those nappies dry to say the least! Even more so when you live on the North East Coast and the weather is usually worse than every where else! Read on…
I have been really struggling to get the nappies dry, even though my Bumgenius V3.0 take about a day and a half on the airer, not quick enough when you are running short! I found a solution on The Cloth Diaper Whisperer, which was a recommendation for working mothers.
Build your stash slightly if you have around 20 nappies, and do your washing when you have about 6 left to use. I have adapted this slightly and do my washing when my first bin is now full, leaving me two / three days worth of clean and enough time for my nappies to dry on the airer.
Double the benefit - excuse to buy more nappies and saving on electricty!
The sun was shining all day yesterday and I washed and hung out at lunch time, it is now cloudy, fingers crossed the rain will stay away for another couple of hours and my stash will dry today outside (desperate to give my new nappies a try!)…….
