Five days away and nappy experience…..
Thursday, August 13th, 2009I have just returned from a five day break, travelling by car with two children and my husband, a great holiday and a HUGE challenge to pack…..
Our car was jam packed with belongings including a high chair, a travel cot and a stroller, as well as clothing for all four of us and food for Boo Boo. My dilemma was what nappies to use on the break???? We were staying with relatives for two days and then a hotel, and the hotel room made the decision for us; we opted to use disposables…… The decision was made purely around the lack of washing facilities and potential storage issues, along with the very full car. Read on…
One of the things I love about real nappies is that they don’t smell! The smell of disposables hit me after about half an hour, and the nappy rash was there after first change…… The next thing I noticed, was how loose all Boo Boo’s clothes were and how long she looked without her gorgeous real nappies padding her bottom. My routines were all to pot combined with this….. We don’t use baby wipes in the traditional sense and use cloth wipes for everything throughout the day; as the real nappies weren’t with us, neither were the cloth wipes. Normality was returned when we safely back in the NE!
We had a great time all round and will be heading back to Legoland Windsor next year, that’s for sure. Hopefully then, we will need to pack less all round and our real nappies will be joining us!
