A magical image for your child
Friday, August 21st, 2009I always said that if I had a daughter, there would be no pink and no princesses. But then again, that was when I was so convinced I was having a boy anyway that I was engrossed in pirates and and all things blue.
Once I heard her Daddy say those magical words “ It’s a girl”, it was like a little pink fairy covered me with girly dust. The first pink balloon I received, and the first pink outfit were all so exciting and as for her first pink bunny, well it was like I had been given my first toy, all over again. Read on…
So, when my mum and I were out shopping and saw the chance for girls to have their photo taken in fairy costumes, I knew that it would be a must for Hannah when she was a bit bigger.
Then I started writing for the reallypants.com blog and as my first assignment, Laura asked me to take a look at www.enhance-me.com . Boy, did I get excited!
“Imagine your child in the most magical of places …” is the tag line. And it really lives up to that suggestion.
Flicking through the many galleries of pictures, it was soon clear that whatever beautiful imaginary land I could imagine placing Hannah in, was more than possible with these wonderful photos.
Fairies, butterflies and princesses kingdoms galore, are there for you to choose from – and that is just for starters. There are plenty of choices for those preferring dinosaurs, knights and rocket ships. They are tagged as boys and girls galleries to make it easier to guess the themes but since the choice of setting is yours, I can see no reason you couldn’t put a pretty little girl into space – or perhaps your little chap could be placed in his very own magical fairy portrait.
As well as the individual settings, there are choices for more than one child, seasonal images and even chance for mummy or daddy to get in the picture too. In the seasonal galleries, there are plenty of beautiful images which would be perfect for creating your own unique Christmas cards. I think I might have to talk very nicely to Hannah’s Daddy!
All you need to do is take a photo at home that you like, email it to Victoria, the artist, and within a few days she will have sent you proofs for approval. You can choose the image you like and where possible ( easier with older children) place them into a suitable pose to fit the photo. All that remains then, is for the magic to happen.
When you are finally happy with the image, you are then sent three copies of the image ( colour, black and white and Sepia) for you to print yourself from any good photo printing store. This allows you to have any size or format you want, the choice is yours. Victoria has two set rates. £13.99 for a settings with up to two people and £15.99 for three to six. She is also happy to discuss larger groups, and for this you can contact her directly via the website.
I must admit that I couldn’t chose just one image of my daughter, and the decision over the setting was nearly impossible. The service I received was fantastic. I asked for a couple of tweaks to the setting and Victoria was more than happy to oblige with my requests, until the point I was happy with the image. It was great to know that when you are paying for something, you really are going to get the service too.
I then received this beautiful image of my little butterfly, sitting in a field of poppies and having a whale of a time! I haven’t quite had chance to print them off yet but I think several copies will be sent to each grandparent, aunt, uncle and friend!
While they do cost enough that you need to think about spending the money, it is more than worth it for a beautiful image of your child in the most fantastic settings. It was something I intended on doing anyway and I will certainly do it again when she is older! I can only begin to imagine what fantastic places Victoria will have created by then!
