Flip Nappy Review

Ease of Use: 4/5 flip-small-moonbeam

Comfort: 5/5

Slimness of Fit: 5/5

Value for Money: 5/5

Drying Time: 5/5

I awaited the delivery of my Flip Nappy with much anticipation – so when it arrived my first impressions of it were fantastic. It’s a while since a new birth to potty nappy was brought out and I couldn’t wait for us to use it. It’s sizing capabilities look great – there are plenty of snaps on the nappy, unlike some B2P’s.

I sampled the lovely Ribbit, one of my favourite nappy colours, a bright green with matching poppers. Having washed and dried my microfibre insert twice we were ready to go! Drying time for this was good – I washed before dinner and by the next morning the insert was dry.

Being used to nappies where the inserts are either inside or snapped onto the outer I was a bit worried that the Flip might be a bit too fiddly for my liking but I was proved wrong as it was surprisingly easy. The written sizing of the insert is stitched onto the back of it so it is easy for you to know how much to fold the insert up or down to your baby’s size. This is especially good for mums who are very new to using real nappies. The stay dry cover of the insert is luxuriously soft – softer than a baby’s bottom in fact!

Doing the nappy up with the poppers was a doddle – velcroed nappies form the main part of my stash so I wondered if the poppers would make putting the nappy on more time consuming… they didn’t and in fact produced a more precise fit on Jacob especially around his thighs as when we very occasionally have a leak this is where they tend to come from. The Flip looked comfortable on him and what I was really impressed by was how slim fitting the nappy was – the normal tiny telltale bit of bulk that you get with some real nappies was absent and I found that it fitted smoothly against his skin.

Absorbency was fantastic – even after only two prewashes. After three hours I gave the nappy a check – Jacob is a heavy wetter and around this time some of our nappies normally need changing, however the insert felt barely wet the microfiber was holding it so well. His skin wasn’t damp either as the stay dry lining of the insert had held the dampness away from his skin so well. There were no visable marks either from the nappy wrap which is a definite plus as that is one thing that I hate.

The only downside I have about this nappy is putting a fresh insert into the wrap whilst trying to change a wriggly baby – apart from that I highly rate it also especially due to the fact that it is such an amazingly good price, there are not many, if any that I know of, nappies that you can do birth to potty in for less than £150 (in my estimations). I would give it 9 out of 10 and am already recommending it to any new mums that come my way!
