I recently stumbled across these by chance whilst looking for a good, absorbent night time nappy. They come highly recommended from retailers and, from £8.50 each, I decided they were well worth trying.
Huggles are ultra snuggly and are constructed from 100% long loop pile Egyptian cotton, making them a truly luxurious night time choice. They are a poppered pocket nappy with a great range, despite being sized, and with a stay dry fleece inner. If your baby is a very, very heavy wetter there is, as you would expect, potential for extra boosters. They also come in a great range of colours.
The first thing I noticed was that, despite them being a small, the nappy looks very big and bulky. They require a wrap and, luckily I have a few medium wraps as a small just would not fit. I popped them in the wash to begin the preparation cycle and soon realised how long this would take. A good 24h drying by the radiator and they were still slightly damp, after only 2 washes I was getting impatient and decided to chance it and that’s when I became thoroughly impressed…
After only 2 washes, these nappies are the most absorbent I’ve ever come across. The first night, I checked my daughter regularly still as I was wary that they needed to be washed more and my daughter is a fairly heavy wetter. All night, she felt dry. By morning I was panicking slightly that she hadn’t urinated for 8 hours… it was only when I took the nappy off and felt it’s weight that I knew she’d been urinating as normal. Impressive. Now, after 4/5 washes I’m confident that they would make 10 hours with no problems. The only thing stopping them lasting longer is hygiene. As for drying time… I’ve purchased 3 and that’s been plenty.
These nappies are, as you can imagine, fairly bulky. My daughter is nearly 10 weeks and looks slightly like a weeble in them, but no more so than any BTP nappy we’ve used. Most importantly, she looks comfy and happy. The bulkiness is not so much of a problem that her clothes don’t fit over or it affects her sleep. In fact, she’s never slept better.
Despite their flaws, Huggles are my firm night time favourite. They’re just as snuggly, soft and squishy as they sound and I’m thrilled with their performance.

I love the description of her as a weeble! It is true, when they are tiny, they do look like a weeble in some of the fluffies!
I agree with not being bothered about the bulk for night-time - I have always used my BTP’s at night as they work well and it didn’t matter when Honey was smaller that these were still quite bulky on her.
Love the colour range of these.
This is one fitted that we havent actually tried personally actually, may well look at giving these a run this time around though.
Yep the colour range sure is good!
