Cheeks and cherries

Cheeks and cherries is home to several of Australia’s finest. Kylie? Dannii? Pfft, even better… Scooch on in and take a squizz!

nappylogoTheir collection of lush real nappies comprises all of the usual suspects you’d expect from any good nappy retailer, from Blueberries right through to prefolds. The cheek and cherry on the cake (see what I did there…), however, that truly makes the site what it is, is their exclusive supply of some of the most gorgeous and luxurious nappies around that will put your Blueberries to shame!

From the country responsible for your bitti d’lish fetish comes a whole host of gorgeous minkies, prints and fits. Issy Bear, Mini lala, Bambooty and Cushie Tushie couture are soon to be new regulars in your fluffy stash essentials. These are soft, stylish and everything your fluffy bum needs. That’s baby, not you… tempted as you may be!

Issy Bear BTP pocket nappies come in a variety of glorious colours, their minky nappies are the softest I’ve ever felt. Drying time is a little long for the ultra squidgy, absorbent insert but not problematically so. Quality is always worth the wait. The fleecy inner is very soft next to baby’s delicate skin, the insert is ultra absorbent (second to none, in fact) whilst the fleece remains dry to the touch. This is also the first nappy I’ve come across to contain my baby’s ample bum explosions! The only real drawback, would be the bulkiness that you would expect from any BTP nappy on a smaller baby.

Mini lala are another BTP pocket nappy and a little, colourful, ray of sunshine. As comfy as they are stylish, they’re a very good, non bulky, fit on my 11 week old daughter and ample for a friend’s 14 month old. Perfect. The inner is made from a luxuriously soft suedecloth which is incredibly effective at keeping baby’s bum dry and the 2 inserts have a fabulously quick drying time of just a couple of hours.

Bambooty nappies are an incredibly slim fitting, sized all in one. They’re as close to a disposable as it’s possible to be. The absorbency is excellent for such a slim nappy and I was surprised to find my heavy wetter could go 4 hours without a leak, no booster necessary though these are available should you need them. The secret to this is the crazy mega blend of absorbent fabrics all packed into one: 6 layers of Bamboo Fleece and Organic Cotton mix with hidden microfibre. Next to baby’s skin is a layer of silky soft suedecloth. The small range of prints are very sweet and have had plenty of comments at baby clinic. They also come with a free, matching wetbag!

Cushie Tushie couture are another fabulous, cosy looking BTP AIO minky in a gorgeous range of designs. Have you ever seen a bumblebee design nappy? No? Well scooch on over to cheeks and cherries and take a squizz! With a fleecy inner and extra pop in booster, baby’s bum still feels dry after several hours. Drying time is, like many AIOs, a respectable 8 hours so you may want to dry them overnight if you’re planning on showing them off the next day.

More than “just” a nappy site, Cheeks and Cherries has a long standing and personal relationship with Tommy’s who fund research into pregnancy problems with a view to preventing the devastating loss of unborn babies. Pledging to donate 10% of annual profits, the owner of Cheeks and Cherries, Alix, demonstrates her personal investment into the charity. A genuinely lovely and wonderful lady, much like our own Laura!

Shopping at Cheeks and Cherries is not only ethical, fashionable and environmentally friendly… it’s donating to a cause that we, as women, can all feel a profound connection to on some level or another.
