Debbies Nappies - Fleece soaker and wipes - Review

Our very first venture into fleece had some surprisingly wonderful results, read on to find out how fleece saved my pretty wraps and Molly’s poor little bum!

I’d like to start by saying how lovely Debbie from www.thenappywrapstore.co.uk is. She was very warm and accommodating and custom made Molly an absolutely gorgeous fleece soaker and a set of 5 matching wipes.

I am fairly new to wool and fleece as nappy covers and Debbie’s fleece soaker was Molly’s very first but, thanks to her, certainly not her last. The cow print design is gorgeous and made from the softest fleece I’ve ever felt, after one wash it was ready to use (yay for those of us too impatient to prewash!) and after several it has yet to show signs of bobbling.

Our first attempt was over a night nappy, just recently Molly has been outwetting her night nappies and so her lovely wraps have been taking a hammering which was naturally upsetting for me (ahaha…). My interest in wool was sparked when I learned that they didn’t need to be washed unless soiled so this seems to be the best solution for our night time woes. So, I was admittedly dubious about trying fleece given my initial problem. However, this fleece is heard wearing stuff and looks as new now as when it first arrived and, best of all, at a fraction of the cost of wool or even wraps.

The fleece contained Molly’s saturated nappy so well that I was actually surprised to find the nappy so wet inside, the outside of the fleece was showing no signs of moisture whatsoever! The fleece looks so cosy next to her skin that it is now a firm night time favourite and I would be keen to reach for it on any long journey.

The wipes are made from the same fleece and backed with a soft flannelette material which is excellent at scrubbing poop off gently and quickly. Ever noticed that your disposables just rub it around? Bin them and try these! You’ll never look back! I soaked them one morning in a home made wipe solution and they were an absolute treat to use, we will be purchasing many more to add to our reusable wipes collection. I found them to be my favourite when Molly recently had a sore bum (damn that one disposable!!!) as they felt the most gentle. Her sore bum was back to it’s usual happy self in just over a day and I was incredibly glad of these wipes in that time.

Both products are of a very high standard and quality and are available for surprisingly low prices. These are bargains that cannot afford to be missed. I will certainly be shopping with Debbie again and would recommend her and her store to any cloth nappy fan. Beautiful bargains! Perfect!
