I actually found these completely useless. We took them on a trip from West Lothian to Kent, a journey of about 7 hours. As we were travelling at night, my son was doubled up with the stay-dry and didn't changed until he'd done a pooh - about 5 hours into the journey. Put a disposable insert into the cover for the rest of the journey, we got an hour down the road, when we had to stop and change him again because he was soaked through.
I was pretty sure that I had wasted my money on these until my husband discovered by accident that if we put them on top of the stay-dry inserts, we got a couple of extra hours out of the Flip, especially when we were out for the day and couldn't get to change him straight away.
I wouldn't recommend these at all, especially if you have a heavy wetter.

Have bought some of these for our holiday, there are washing facilities so I'll be taking some cloth but these are great for days when you're out & about. Also I don't fancy washing nappies everyday on holiday & not sure how I'm going to store wet/dirties so these will be great. I did a trial & the pad lasted 4.5 hours on my 8 month old daughter before leaking & 3 hours on my 2.5 year old son so probably not suitable for overnight but very convenient for occasional use.

I do love my flips! They're actually OH's favourite nappy, he says they're the easiest ones but I think they're quite fiddly! Not sure I'd use the disposable inserts, but I can see that they'd be invaluable on holiday! A good compromise! x
