Pampers Causing Rashes and Burns…
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010Pampers new ‘Dry Max’ nappies has parents all over the United States in an uproar as complaints come rolling in thick and fast about the nappies causing what is described as a chemical burn or severe rash on the bottoms of babies and toddlers….Read on…
1500 mums have now joined a furious Facebook group urging Proctor and Gamble to pull this new design- but the firm are holding ground and insisting that the nappies are safe.
This is despite parents growing concerns over them, and numerous reports of pustules, blood filled boils, and red raised rashes that seem immune to all regular nappy rash treatments.
So, the Dry Max, which is marketed as ‘the brands driest nappy ever’ may be thin and dry, but at what cost? Apparently our infants health and well-being….
Hmm…even more reason to ditch the chemical-laden ’sposies altogether and opt for a much softer and safer cloth nappy version!

I can’t believe they are still allowed to sell disposable nappies never mind people buying them. They are so bad for babies and I think this proves that there needs to be some serious research into the safety of them!
It never ceases to amaze me just how immoral baby product companies are… anything to maximise profits eh?
Wow that is so bad. I assume they havent been sold in uk yet?
Just shocking! And to not even withdraw them is beyond belief!!
That’s scary - Boot shave a big promotional competition about the new Drymax, so irresponsible.
I am in Australia and have a seven week old boy. We used 2 packs of pampers swaddlers nappies when we first bought our baby home, and on the first night he developed a severe rash. I felt awful - I thought it was something I had done, or was not doing right. No nappy cream would get rid of the rash - which was raised and blistered. Baby Dexter screamed in pain every time we changed his nappy. The rash miraculously disappeared when we changed the brand of nappies. Pampers have a lot to answer for. They hurt my newborn baby, and they upset me when I couldn’t stop his pain and had to try to explain his awful rash to the midwifes/ child health nurses.
My 8wk old and 2 yr old kids have been using pampers nappies from when they first arrived in australia. NEITHER of my kids have had any nappy rash, boils, etc from the nappies. Neither of my kids can use the coles brand or woolworths brand of nappies as they get sever rash from them however nothing comes when i use pampers on them. I personally feel that Pampers are better designed and a better fit and are better than Huggies for drawing moisture away from the babys skin. You need to try the napp[ies you can comment on them. All nappies are different for different kids.
Nice to hear they are working for you Leah, however these rashes are not isolated incidents and the issue does appear to be a very serious one.
We simply report on the news we find.

Yeah I understand that. I wasnt having a go at you. I was just pointing out that every child is different and my kids are an ‘exception to the rule’ in this particular case. I really hope it stays that way :-/
