When ordering, you are given the choice of various, vibrant colourways and this, I must say, is the most difficult part. There are so many beautiful colours and dye effects that it’s very easy to get confused or, “accidentally”, end up buying quite a few! Next you can choose the fabric for the outer, inner, and boosters. What make LLS nappies so special is the option to add Zorb! The lovely Beth, who hand dyes all LLS nappies, had this to say “Zorb is made on non-allergenic bamboo/cotton/viscose and poly micro fibres and absorbs about 20x faster than other fabrics where it can hold 3x as much liquid approximately, so leaks and wicks less, dries quickly, etc. It’s made and can be bought from Wazoodle in the States. With such superb absorbency, these night nappies truly are unparalleled.

On our first night, Molly looked very cosy in her nappy. The fit is excellent as it is poppered at the sides and we had no leg gape or waist tightness issues. The term “like a glove” springs to mind. We popped on a wool cover (also available and custom dyed at LLS) and settled down for the night. 12 hours later, we awoke, chirpy and bright and ready for the day ahead. I immediately changed her nappy and was amazed to find that the outside of the nappy showed absolutely no trace of the masses of moisture within. My daughter is an incredibly heavy wetter so this was a big first for us.

Pre-washing the nappy was easy, I simply soaked in a bucket of water overnight, popped into a 30 degree wash, rinsed and hung to dry. Ever after I washed at 40, rinsed and the nappy remains as soft as the day it arrived. Having pre-washed it only once, the results were very impressive, so much so that I will definitely be making further purchases from LLS. I have been absolutely blown away!

Our day started off very well. On to the day nappy to discover if it could match up…

img_3058Luscious Little Day Nappies had a lot to live up to, so I was almost nervous to try! Still, I washed, dressed and nappied up Molly and covered the nappy in wool interlock longies (also available custom made and dyed from LLS) and set about our usual activities. Soon, 4 hours had passed and I went to change her. I often try to leave new, unknown nappies for around 4 hours as I like to see what they’re capable of. Again, I was not disappointed. The outer remained completely dry and Molly’s bum was equally dry. Once more, I was impressed.

I have avoided days nappies up to now, mistakenly thinking they would be more work/would smell/etc. but I am an absolute convert! They’re softer and mould more easily to your little one’s shape due to the nature of the fabrics used and because they aren’t PUL lined. They are a truly excellent fit.

Absorbency wise, if you have a particularly heavy day wetter, there is the option to add the magical Zorb to boost your day nappies too. However, from my own experience living with a heavy wetter, this probably won’t be necessary.

The dye effect on each of the nappies is nothing less than an art form. Beth has done a spectacular job and you can tell that a lot of time and thought goes into each nappy. For that reason, they make excellent gifts. I was also lucky enough to find that my night nappy, which is the colourway: Deep Sea, has been given custom fishy snaps. This attention to detail is the real icing on the cake.

Luscious Little Somethings are committed to customer satisfaction and the team, consisting of Beth and Amber from Upsy Daisy, work very well together for a professional, friendly service with an obvious wealth of experience. From ordering to receiving and even wearing I have felt valued as a customer and very satisfied with every possible aspect. The product range on offer is very tempting. From hand dyed yarn, to nappies, nappy covers and even hand dyed bamboo velour blankets at prices you can NOT afford to miss, I have a horrible, horrible feeling that I am going to be significantly worse off in the coming months stocking up on some real must haves.
