bumGenius v3 - discontinued
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010Yesterday it was announced that cotton babies would no longer be manufacturing their bumGenius V3 range. However, something new, and exciting, is coming in their place! Read on to find out what cotton babies had to say…
The new product is expected to be unveiled on June 29th. This has set tongues wagging in the nappy world about what this could be and cotton babies certainly aren’t giving anything away!
“The last couple of years has been a wild ride for Cotton Babies and the brands we created. We started out on our product venture with a tiny shipment of diapers that sold out within hours on December 21st, 2005. Since that date, the production lines haven’t stopped and our most popular brand, bumGenius, has gone on to be sold all over the world, winning awards and accolades from media nearly everywhere it goes. In keeping with our long standing tradition of excellence, we have been working on something new for quite some time. I’m not very good at keeping secrets, so news has gotten out here and there about what might be new. Speculation from you and your friends has been quite literally all over the map about what the new product might be. Up until today, we weren’t 100% sure of when we could tell you, but finally, we have a date. I am excited to announce that a new bumGenius product will be born on June 29th! We’re confident that you will be just as excited about this new product as we are.”
So, what do we think this top secret new product will be? My sources tell me it has been in testing for a few months now and has been VERY highly recommended. Very exciting. But, what do YOU think? A printed BG? Minkee? A fitted nappy?

I saw this last announcement last night and all I can think is that it must be good if they are discontinuing such a tried and tested favourite! Can’t wait to see what it might be. I think patterns or minkee are a strong possibility but I suppose we shall all have to just wait and see!!!
I read this too last night. Bumgenius already do a fitted bamboo nappy (although I’m not sure in the UK at the moment??) I can’t see them completely discontinuing the V3 if they were just adding prints/minki - my money is on a whole new design of nappy! Whatever it is…. its all very exciting!

Like, say, self cleaning nappies? As slim as as a disposable and the ultimate absorbency?

Ohhh no! I love my BG’s recommend them to anyone who will listen. I agree though - they must be confident to discountine such a popular nappy.
Yes this was quite a shocker to us all! We are pretty sure it is being replaced with a V4, but at the moment even we don’t have any further info on the replacement- wish we did so that we can plan ahead a bit!
