We have made a very exciting discovery of a fantastic product here at Fill Your Pants. Something that is so precious and unique to the market, that we just couldn’t resist having them!
We introduce to you the Lulla Doll. On first look, you may wonder what is so special about her? There are plenty of dolls on the market after all, but read on to be amazed, for this doll might just change your life!
So what is the Lulla doll and what are her benefits?
The Lulla Doll imitates closeness of a caregiver at rest with its soothing sounds of real heartbeat and breathing and soft touch.
Lulla’s unique design is based on scientific research that shows how closeness improves sleep, well being and safety for babies.
Lulla’s aim is to help babies to stabilise their own breathing and heartbeat, resulting in longer and better quality sleep as well as added security.
Their unique patent pending design was inspired by research on kangaroo care, the effects of heartbeat and breathing sounds, and the effects that smell, sight and touch have on babies and small children.
Hear– When the chest is pressed, Lulla plays a real-life recording of the breathing and heartbeat of a mother at rest. Her name is Gudrún, she is a dear friend, a mother of four and a yoga teacher.
Look– Babies prefer to look at something that resembles a human face. The colors of the doll were chosen for the purpose of making the doll Unisex and Unirace.
Touch– The outer layer is made from soft natural cotton. The filling is made from ultra fine microfiber that is hypoallergenic.
Smell– The fabric of the doll can absorb smell from parents if they first keep it close to their skin before giving it to their child for extra feeling of security.
The research of Lulla was crucial in making this doll. Testing by the Icelandic National Hospital in their NICU department on premature and newborn babies, left the NICU team optimistic that the doll can have a positive effect on stabilising newborns.
The recording of Lulla was another crucial aspect in making her.
The recording team consisted of a musician, recording experts and an electrician.
Gudrun, a dear friend to the creators, a mother of four and a yoga teacher, was the professional breather. After creating a calm relaxed atmosphere in the recording studio, Gudrún went into a deep meditation for two hours, whilst the team listened and recorded. After four attempts they were happy with the sound created.
To then make this sound as close to real life as possible, the heartbeat and breathing was recorded simultaneously. The two hour recording was then cut to a ‘clean’ half an hour that was simlar enough on both ends for it to loop.
How does Lulla work?
A quick press on the heart of the doll gives you a short sound demo that lasts a few seconds. To activate the doll you have to press down on the heart until the sound turns on, for about 3 seconds. Once activated the sound will play for 8 hours before it automatically turns off. You can turn off the sound at any time by pressing the heart again.
