Breast feed - Be a star
Since the advent of commercial formula, in 1912, breastfeeding began it’s slow decline and by the early 1970s over 75% of babies were fed on formula. It was around this time that the “knowledge gap” in breastfeeding truly began. Providing access to the experiences of others is where the www.beastar.org.uk campaign really triumphs, it bridges the 4 decade long knowledge gap and charges us with the responsibility of being the women that our future offspring can rely on for breastfeeding advice.

Breast-Feeding After Surgery
After reading Leanne’s fantastic post about Milk donation, it got me thinking about my own experiences with breast-feeding and so thought I would follow it up by putting fingers to the keyboard…
During pregnancy I knew that I wanted to breast-feed my baby, but I also knew that having had breast-surgery five years previously, that I may find this more difficult than most. Read on…

Milk donation and the plight of Haitian babies.
Milk donation is something I feel very passionately about. After my gorgeous daughter was born she spent the first 24 hours of her life in neonatal intensive care for observations, while traumatic for any new mother to see her tiny baby in an incubator I soon learned that, compared to some mothers, I had it easy. I spent the vast majority of those 24 hours in NICU with my baby and couldn’t help looking around at the other incubators in which lay some of the tiniest babies I have ever seen. It was heartbreaking to behold and I feel a great deal of compassion and respect for the mothers of premature and poorly babies. Read on….

Not So Essential Oil
For Christmas I was given a pregnancy sleep pillow from Mothercare, to aid my comfort during the night the further I progress in this pregnancy. I was very grateful for the gift, and noticed that the pillow also came with a little pocket in which to stuff a lavender scented pad to aid relaxation. The lavender oil came in the pack, and was titled ‘Essential Aromatherapy Lavender Oil’ and being a big fan of essential oil blends for their medicinal benefits, I thought no more of it. That was until my other half casually looked at the label of this ‘essential oil’ that is….

What do Mums really Knead?
I think the best thing I have done throughout the process of being pregnant and having a baby has been talking to other people in the same position, or who have been through it.
But finding those people was quite a big leap of faith. I had to put myself out there and joined the local pregnancy Yoga groups, the local aqua-natal class and again when MP was born, the local mother and toddler group. Which, having been there yourselves, will know it can be daunting when everyone seems to know each other already! Read on….

Funky Little Rascals
So it was time for another assignment, and since Madam Pants and I love our clothes, a clothes review was most certainly going to be an easy one to do…
Or so we thought!
The post office seemed to be attempting to thwart us at every turn, with two attempts at sending me a product to review having failed, we had to resort to a signed for parcel. Good old royal mail huh? Read on…

Where does time go????
It seems you blink and a year passes once you become a mother……. I cannot believe that, BooBoo my second is one year old now! Well actually thirteen months, as a month has passed already since her Birthday. Where has that gone????
What I also cannot believe is I have been back at work for two whole months….. I must admit, the last two months do seem to have passed in a huge blur of emotion, stress and utter exhaustion, a fate I believe I am destined to as a working mother of two. Time will tell……. Read on…
